WASHINGTON – A pair of Georgetown University men's lacrosse players earned BIG EAST Weekly awards, as announced by the league office on Monday. Rory Connor was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week while Charlie McGurrin earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for their efforts in the Hoyas 12-9 win over Penn in the season opener over the weekend.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Connor tied a career-high seven goals to go with one assist in his debut with the Hoyas in a 12-9 win at Penn. He had seven goals on just nine shots. Connor's sixth goal of the game gave him his 200th career point and he now has 202 points combined between his career at Colgate and Georgetown. His seven goals are tied for ninth-most in a single game at Georgetown.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
McGurrin made his first career start at close defense after primarily playing LSM his first three seasons on the Hilltop. He collected a game-high eight grounds balls and added two caused turnovers in a 12-9 win at Penn. McGurrin also scored his first career goal. Georgetown's defense held Penn scoreless for spans of 16:06 and 13:17 in the game.
