QUEENS, N.Y. - The Georgetown University women's basketball team held off a late run to defeat the St. John's University Red Storm 62-60 on Wednesday evening in a BIG EAST Conference matchup at Carnesecca Arena in Queens, New York. Head Coach Darnell Haney
- "I think our group persevered tonight. They could have laid down and just threw it all away, but they just stood fast and made sure that we got stops when we needed to. We made sure we executed when we needed to. I'm super excited and super proud of every single one of them. We stayed together, we stayed tight, we stayed tough, and we were the tightest, toughest team in the gym tonight. I'm so proud of them all."
