Hoyas Take Down Saint Peter’s

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team defeated the Saint Peter's Peacocks in both games of the home opening doubleheader on Friday, 13-3 and 4-2, at Capital One Park. With the wins in Tysons, Virginia, the Hoyas improve to 3-3 on the season while the Peacocks fall to 0-2.

ON THE RECORD

"Man, what a day. Our home opener is always special, and we knew we had to come out and be really good. I thought Kai Leckszas gave us that chance in the first game, then we scored eight. That was just awesome to see for our guys, and gave us a lot of energy. And then, game two, you know, Max Whitmer, first college start, first collegiate win to give us a chance on the back end of a double header after a long day of baseball, it really set the tone. Then our bullpen was lights out, and Griffin O'Conner, Ethan Rucker and then Jackman with the save, was just what we wanted, and we played good defense on the back part of the game. We needed it. Jeremy Sheffield gave us the big home run there too. But it was just a fun day of baseball at the park and excited for tomorrow. I know it's going to be a battle. They come ready to play. They can really swing the bats." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
