Hoyas Sweep Saint Peter’s

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team defeated the Saint Peter's Peacocks in both games of the doubleheader on Saturday, 18-2 and 13-0, at Capital One Park. With the wins in Tysons, Virginia, the Hoyas improve to 5-3 on the season while the Peacocks fall to 0-4.

ON THE RECORD

"You know, I thought we were able to score a couple runs early in game one today. It gave us some confidence. And then Trajan Lee gave us a good start to get us into the fifth, and then in the bullpen took care of things from there. I'm just really proud of our group. Offensively, we had 10 two-out hits in that big inning and when you do that, you get a chance to win a lot of games. Jeremy Sheffield led us offensively with five hits and four RBIs, and that was just great to see that out of him and him being a consistent leader. And then in game two, it started off with Spencer Seid giving us a great start going five and two thirds. And then great to see Camron Poe and Andrew Jergins keep the shutout, which is the first time since last season in May against Seton Hall. But then offensively, we had a lot of good at bats, So overall, we had an amazing crowd all weekend long. They gave us a lot of support, and we love our fans. We appreciate them coming out and looking forward to next Wednesday." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
