HARTFORD, Conn. - The Georgetown University women's basketball team fell to the No. 1/1 University of Connecticut Huskies 84-52 on Thursday evening in a BIG EAST Conference matchup at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Connecticut. With the loss, the Hoyas drop to 13-15 overall and 6-13 in BIG EAST play, while the Huskies improve to a perfect 30-0 and 19-0 in league action.
How it Happened
- Sophomore Destiny Agubata opened the game with five quick points and GU held the small lead for the first two minutes.
- Midway through the first, a quick 7-0 run gave the Huskies the lead 12-8.
- In the final two minutes of the first quarter, sophomore Khadee Hession's triple sparked an 8-2 run and the Blue & Gray trailed by one, 21-20, after one.
- UConn took over in the second quarter as Sarah Strong staged a 10-0 solo run, and GU trailed by as much as 12 before a jumper from junior Khia Miller stopped the run.
- The momentum stayed with UConn which outscored the Blue & Gray 27-5 in the second quarter and the Hoyas went into the break trailing 48-25.
- UConn continued to build the lead out of the half opening the third quarter with a 13-0 run.
- A jumper from graduate student Brianna Scott gave the Hoyas their first points, but GU would still trail 70-38 at the end of the third.
- Sophomore Summer Davis would score GU's first nine points in the final stanza, however, no comeback was in the cards as the Hoyas fell 84-52.

- Davis led the Hoyas with 12 points, while Hession added 11 as the duo combined for five triples on the night.
- Agubata pulled down a squad-best 10 rebounds to go along with nine points in the game.
- The Blue & Gray shot 32.0% (16-50) from the field, but allowed 44.9% (31-69) shooting by UConn.
- The Hoyas were outrebounded by the Huskies, 38-37, and GU forced 10 UConn turnovers on six steals.
- Azzi Fudd led the way for UConn with 24 points as one of five Husky players in double figures.
