WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's No. 11/12 men's lacrosse team opens its 2026 home slate with No. 9/10 Ohio State coming to the Nation's Capital on Saturday. Opening faceoff is set for noon at Cooper Field.

- The Hoyas are ranked 11th in the most recent United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches Poll and 12th in the Kane Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
- Georgetown is coming off a 15-9 road loss at Notre Dame that was moved indoors because of weather issues in South Bend, Indiana on Sunday.
- Rory Connor led the Hoyas with four goals while Kevin Miller posted a hat trick with three goals
- Liam Connor and Jack Schubert both tallied a goal and an assist, Joe Cesare had two assists and both Patrick Crogan and Ross Prince had one assist. Prince went 9-for-18 (.500) on faceoffs to go with seven ground balls while Hayden Cody was 5-for-9 (.555) with six ground balls.
- Defensively, James Carretta and Charlie McGurrin were both credited with two caused turnovers and three ground balls for the Blue & Gray.
- Anderson Moore (1-1) posted 11 saves in the loss and collected two ground balls.
- On the year, Rory Connor leads the Hoyas with 12 points (11G, 1A) and leads the NCAA in goals per game (5.50) and shot percentage (.733). Liam Connor has seven points (1G, 6A) and both Joe Cesare (1G, 3A) and Lucas Dudemaine (3G, 1A) have four points.
- McGurrin has been credited with four caused turnovers this year to go with 11 ground balls while Ty Banks has three CTs.
- Prince and Cody are both .500 on the year at the faceoff dot, winning 21-of-24 and 5-of-10, respectively.
- In goal, Moore has a .478 save percentage and collected 11 saves in each of the first two games this season.
Scouting Ohio State
- The Buckeyes are 5-0 on the season but are playing just their second game away from home on Saturday.
- Garrett Haas leads OSU with 24 points (11G, 13A) while Alex Marinier has 17 (14G, 3A) and Liam White adds 11 (9G, 2A).
- Jack Oldman has won 44-of-64 (.688) faceoffs with 34 ground balls while Matt Mayfield has won 30-of-48 (.625) draws with 23 ground balls.
- Defensively, Cullen Brown anchors the Buckeye defense with eight caused turnovers and 15 ground balls while Jonny Cool has five caused turnovers and 13 ground balls.
- In goal, OSU boasts the reigning USILA Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Outstanding Goalie award winner Caleb Fyock (5-0) who owns a 5.94 goals-against average to go with a .600 save percentage and 39 saves.
Series History
- Georgetown and Ohio State have played just three previous times with the Hoyas holding a 2-1 series advantage. The two teams have not played since 2002.
- Ohio State won the first meeting 11-7 in 1982 while the Blue & Gray won 10-6 in 2001 and 10-8 in 2002.
- Georgetown is 1-1 at home against the Buckeyes.
