WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's 15th-ranked men's lacrosse team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 16-8 victory over visiting UAlbany on Tuesday afternoon at Cooper Field. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 2-3 on the year while the Great Danes fall to 2-4.

How it Happened
- Despite an early faceoff advantage for UAlbany, the Hoyas took a 2-0 lead halfway into the opening quarter with consecutive goals from Schubert. The Great Danes would find their first goal with just 62 seconds remaining in the frame to make it 2-1 after 15 minutes of action. In the second, Georgetown scored off the opening faceoff with a pole goal from MacFarland 12 seconds into the quarter. After a scoreless six minutes, Silas Richmond scored his first goal for UAlbany at the 9:01 mark to make it 3-2, but the Blue & Gray strung together three-straight goals from Marshall, Ransom and Rory Connor to lead 6-2. Another late Great Dane goal from Richmond, this time with 35 seconds to go in the half, salvaged a 6-3 GU lead heading into the break.
- Coming out of the locker room, offenses exploded for a combined 10 goals in the third quarter. Six-straight goals from the Hoyas in the opening seven minutes – including back-to-back Rory Connor goals within four seconds of each other – propelled the Hoyas to a12-3 advantage. UAlbany responded with three consecutive goals of its own to make it 12-6, but Schubert's third goal of the game with four seconds left gave Georgetown a 13-6 lead with 15 minutes to play.
- The Great Danes managed a pair of goals in the first three minutes of the fourth to pull within five at 13-8, but Georgetown held its guests scoreless the rest of the way while adding three goals in the final seven minutes to seal the 16-8 victory.
UAlbany Notes
- Richmond led the Great Danes with three goals and an assist. He was the only UAlbany player with more than one point on the day.
- Austin Oppenheim went 15-for-22 (.681) on faceoffs with six ground balls.
- Defensively, Cade Galko was credited with three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
- In goal, Brady Smith (2-4) had 13 saves in the loss.
