BALTIMORE – Georgetown University's 13th-ranked men's lacrosse team earned a 14-7 victory at Loyola on Tuesday evening at Ridley Athletic Complex. With the win, the Hoyas even their record to 3-3 on the year while the Greyhounds fall to 4-4 overall.
Hoya Highlights
- Liam Connor led Georgetown with three goals and six assists for nine points on the day.
- Jake Bickel added a career-high four goals while Rory Connor notched three goals and an assist for his sixth-straight game for the Hoyas with at least a hat trick.
- Jack Ransom scored twice and added an assist while both Kevin Miller and Jack Schubert had a goal and an assist.
- Natty Mason also dished out an assist for the Blue & Gray.
- Defensively, Joe Vranizan was credited with a pair of caused turnovers and two ground balls. Ty Banks added a caused turnover and collected four ground balls.
- In goal, Anderson Moore (3-3) posted a season-high 14 saves in the win and had four ground balls.
How it Happened
- Georgetown took control of the game early, scoring the first three goals by three different Hoyas through the opening eight minutes of action. Loyola responded with three-straight of its own, including a pair 21 seconds apart, to knot things up at 3-3 at the 2:37 mark. Rory Connor's second goal of the frame with just 1.6 seconds remaining gave the Blue & Gray a 4-3 lead after 15 minutes of action.
- In the second, Georgetown dominated the quarter and outscored its host 5-1 in the stanza. Loyola would manage a late goal in the final minutes to stop a 17:03 scoring drought and salvage a 9-4 GU lead heading into halftime.
- A slow start to the second half saw neither team find the back of the cage until the 6:04 mark when Ransom finished a feed from Schubert to make it 10-4. Loyola answered with a man-up goal less than a minute later, but a scoreless final five minutes of play gave Georgetown the five-goal lead heading into the fourth.
- Loyola scored early in the fourth but Bickel's fourth goal of the game kept it a five-goal cushion at 11-6. Another Greyhound goal at the 9:55 mark made it 11-7, but Georgetown held Loyola scoreless down the stretch and added a pair of insurance goals – back-to-back within 17 seconds of each other with 7:39 to play – to seal the victory.

- Mason Cook led the Greyhounds with three goals and an assist.
- Carson Hall went 14-for-17 (.823) on faceoffs with nine ground balls.
- Defensively, six different Greyhounds were credited with one caused turnover each.
- In goal, Max Watkinson (4-4) had 10 saves in the loss.
Georgetown Notes
- Liam Connor's nine points are tied for seventh most in a single game at Georgetown while his six assists are tied for fourth most.
- Moore's 14 saves move him into a tie for eighth all-time at Georgetown, eclipsing the 400 career save milestone. He is now tied with Rich D'Andrea ('06) with 410 career saves.
