Four Hoyas Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

WASHINGTON – Four Georgetown University men's lacrosse players earned BIG EAST Weekly awards, as announced by the league office on Monday. Rory Connor was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, George Acton was tabbed the BIG EAST Specialist of the Week, Evan MacFarland was selected as the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week and Anderson Moore earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following the Hoyas 16-8 win over UAlbany last week.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Connor scored four goals – including the eventual game-winner – and added two assists for six points in the 16-8 win over UAlbany. He posted his fifth-straight hat trick in as many games with the Hoyas on the season and his fourth with at least four goals. Connor continues to lead the NCAA with 4.80 goals per game. This is his third BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honor while also being named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll twice.

Acton was credited with three caused turnovers and collected six ground balls – both career highs – in the win over UAlbany. He also scored his first goal of the season, just the second of his career.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
MacFarland was credited with a career-high three caused turnovers and three ground balls for the second-straight game in the win over UAlbany. He also scored his first career goal. MacFarland is the 10th player on Georgetown's active roster to have earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors at some point during their rookie season.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Moore posted a season-high .600 save percentage to go with just eight goals allowed and 12 saves in the win over UAlbany. He added two caused turnovers and two ground balls. Moore has collected double-digit saves in all five games this season for the Hoyas and is now just four saves shy of 400 for his career at Georgetown.
