Tennis Set for Five-Match Road Swing

WASHINGTON - Georgetown tennis begins a busy five-match road trip on Thursday when the men travel to Baltimore for a match against Loyola University Maryland while the women head to South Orange, New Jersey on Friday for a match against Seton Hall. Women's tennis continues the trip with more BIG EAST action on Saturday against St. John's in Queens, New York before both the men and women travel to Philadelphia to face Saint Joseph's on Sunday.
 
About Georgetown Men's Tennis
  • Georgetown (3-12,2-1 BE) split its matches over the weekend, picking up a 6-1 victory over Marquette on Friday and falling 6-1 to Richmond on Saturday.
  • GU earned the doubles point for a second consecutive match and went 5-1 in singles matches against the Golden Eagles. Friday's win marked Georgetown's second straight conference victory.
  • Arthur O'Sullivan and Jonah Hill were named the BIG EAST Men's Doubles Team of the Week on Monday for their performance against Marquette.
  • Joshua Lamm-Bocharov went 2-0 in singles matches over the weekend, earning Georgetown's lone point in the loss to Richmond. The freshman has a team-high seven singles wins and holds a 7-6 overall record, including an undefeated 3-0 mark in conference action.
  • James O'Sullivan and Lamm-Bocharov lead GU with five doubles wins.
 
About Georgetown Women's Tennis
  • Women's tennis (3-7, 1-1 BE) dropped a tight match to Richmond on Saturday, falling 4-3.
  • Ruhika Bhat and Julia Chu cruised to a 6-2 win on court two in doubles action, while Paige Gilbert and Ashley Kennedy clinched the doubles point for GU with a 6-1 win on court one.
  • Emily Novikov and Ruhika Bhat earned straight-set singles wins on courts one and five.
  • Chu and Bhat lead the Hoyas with six singles wins apiece as both hold 2-0 marks in conference play.
  • Chu leads Georgetown with five doubles wins, followed by Emily Novikov with four wins.
