Eighth-Seeded Hoyas Face Ninth-Seeded Bulldogs in BIG EAST Tournament

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's basketball is preparing for the BIG EAST Tournament presented by JEEP this weekend.  Eighth-seeded Georgetown will face ninth-seeded Butler on Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the opening round of the tournament held at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (13-16, 6-14 BIG EAST) is coming off of a tough 59-54 loss to DePaul in the regular season finale at McDonough Arena on Sunday.
  • Indya Davis led the Hoyas with 11 points and four steals.
  • Sophomore Destiny Agubata and graduate student Brianna Scott tallied 10 apiece, while Agubata pulled down a team-best seven rebounds.
  • The Blue & Gray shot 32.8% (21-64) from the field, but allowed 41.1% (23-56) shooting by DePaul.

  • McKenna Johnson (10) and Nevaeh Jackson (10) rounded out the Bulldogs in double figures.
  • Saniya Jackson paced the squad on the glass, pulling down eight rebounds in the contest.
