WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team defeated the George Mason Patriots 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at Raymond H. "Hap" Spuhler Field to win its third series of the season. With the win in Fairfax, Virginia, the Hoyas improve to 10-6 on the season while the Patriots slip to 6-7.
ON THE RECORD
"I'm just truly proud of everyone in our organization to come on the road and win our series on a Sunday. Just excited to see how we responded after yesterday. Spencer Seid gave us a great start, and I thought our bullpen with Ashton Arroyo, Jack Volo, Griffin O'Conner and Luke Jackman to get the save, was just outstanding. But our defense, Connor Price, threw the guy out in the eighth inning to stop their rally and then he had a big home run. Just truly, truly proud of how we responded. And it was a really great series win for us. And I'm looking forward to getting back to Capital On Park on Tuesday when we host Penn State and I encourage all the fans to come on out." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
