Men’s Lacrosse Hosts Marquette in Battle of BIG EAST Unbeatens

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's No. 12/13 men's lacrosse team welcomes Marquette, presented by InvescoQQQ, to the Nation's Capital in a showdown of two of the remaining three teams undefeated in BIG EAST play. Opening faceoff is set for noon at Cooper Field.

About Georgetown
  • The Hoyas (5-4, 2-0 BIG EAST) are ranked 12th in the most recent United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches Poll and 13th in the Kane Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
  • Georgetown is coming off a 15-8 victory on the road at Providence in the BIG EAST action last Saturday.
  • Liam Connor led the Hoyas with five goals and an assist while Rory Connor added three goals and an assist.

  • Evan MacFarland has been credited with 13 caused turnovers this year while Charlie McGurrin and George Acton have eight.
  • Hayden Cody has gone 77-for-165 (.467) on faceoffs with 38 ground balls
  • In goal, Moore has a 10.55 goals-against average to go with a .540 save percentage and 109 saves.
Scouting Marquette
  • The Golden Eagles are 6-4 on the season and 2-0 in league play, coming off a pair of overtime wins against BIG EAST foes Providence and St. John's.
  • Carsen Brandt leads MU with 40 points (23G, 17A) while Nolan Rappis has 33 (21G, 12A).
  • Marquette rotates a trio of faceoff specialists, winning a combined 133-of-274 (.515) draws with 78 ground balls.
  • Defensively, Brady Nicholas anchors the Golden Eagle defense with 12 caused turnovers and 24 ground balls.
  • In goal, Lucas Lawas (6-4) has started all 10 games between the pipes and has a 12.58 GAA to go with a .449 save percentage and 96 saves.
Series History
  • The Hoyas and Marquette have played 16 times since the Golden Eagles established their program in 2013. Georgetown owns an 11-5 overall record, including each of the last eight showdowns.
  • Georgetown won both meetings in 2025, a 10-9 double overtime win in Milwaukee during the regular season and a 19-8 victory in Denver in the BIG EAST Semifinals.
  • The Blue & Gray is 6-2 all-time at home against Marquette.
