WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team defeated the Butler Bulldogs 12-11 on Friday at Bulldog Park. With the win in Indianapolis, the Hoyas improve to 21-17 on the season and 3-4 in conference play while the Bulldogs move to 14-23 and 4-3 in league action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgetown opened the scoring in the top of the first as Price brought in Ilitch on a fielder's choice to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Bulldogs answered in the bottom of the second with a solo home run to even it at 1-1.
- The Hoyas broke it open in the top of the third, as Gilio drew an RBI walk, Larkins delivered a two-RBI single, Templin added a sacrifice bunt and Kahn drove in another run to build a 6-1 lead.
- BU responded in the bottom of the third with a grand slam to cut the deficit to 6-5.
- Georgetown answered right back in the top of the fourth as Peek launched a two-run homer to push the lead to 8-5.
- The Hoyas added on in the top of the fifth with an RBI single from Ilitch to make it 9-5.
- Butler chipped away in the bottom of the sixth with a run on a fielder's choice and another on a stolen home base to make it 9-7.
- Georgetown added insurance in the top of the seventh on a sacrifice bunt from Ilitch to extend the lead to 10-7.
- The Hoyas pushed it further in the top of the eighth as Kahn delivered a two-RBI double to make it 12-7.
- The Bulldogs narrowed the deficit in the bottom of the eighth with a three-run homer followed by a solo shot to cut it to 12-11, but Georgetown held on for the win.
