WASHINGTON – The No. 25 Georgetown University women's lacrosse team (11-4, 5-0 BIG EAST) remained undefeated in conference play on Saturday morning, holding off the Villanova University Wildcats (8-6, 2-3 BIG EAST) for a 9-8 victory at Villanova Stadium. The Blue & Gray utilized a strong third-quarter push and a resilient defensive effort to secure their fifth consecutive BIG EAST win and remain at the top of the conference standings.

  • In the fourth quarter, Anne McGovern and Loschert found the back of the net to extend the lead to 9-6.
  • The Hoya defense stood tall in the closing minutes, as Leah Warehime recorded a crucial save on a Villanova free-position attempt with under a minute remaining to preserve the one-goal victory.
