Men’s Lacrosse Closes Out Regular Season at Villanova

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's No. 8/12 men's lacrosse team travels to Villanova on Friday night to vie for the top-seed at the upcoming BIG EAST Championship, Presented by JEEP. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at Villanova Stadium in the 2026 regular season finale.

About Georgetown
  • The Hoyas (7-4, 4-0 BIG EAST) are ranked eighth in the most recent United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches Poll and 12th in the Kane Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
  • Georgetown is coming off an 18-11 victory in the home finale against St. John's, clinching at least a share of the 2026 BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship.
  • Jack Ransom led the Hoyas with four goals on the day while Jake Bickel and Liam Connor both tallied three goals and three assists for six points.
  • Rory Connor chipped in with three goals and an assist while Natty Mason had a goal and an assist.

  • On the year, Liam Connor leads the Hoyas with 58 points (17G, 41A) and leads the NCAA in assists per game. Rory Connor is right behind with 55 points (44G, 11A) and is second in the NCAA in goals per game. Ransom has 20 points (16G, 4A) and Jack Schubert has 19 (12G, 7A).
  • Evan MacFarland and Banks have both been credited with 14 caused turnovers this year.
  • Cody has gone 99-for-209 (.474) on faceoffs with 52 ground balls while Prince is 35-for-68 (.515) with 18 ground balls.
  • In goal, Moore has a 10.19 goals-against average to go with a .550 save percentage and 133 saves.
Scouting Villanova
  • The Wildcats are 6-6 on the season and 3-1 in league play, coming off a 16-15 overtime win at Marquette to clinch their spot in the BIG EAST Championship.
  • Luke Raymond leads VU with 42 points (32G, 140) while Colin Michener adds 27 (24G, 3A) and David Link has 23 (13G, 10A).
  • George Glomb is the top faceoff specialist for Villanova, winning 99-of-176 (.563) draws with 52 ground balls.
  • Defensively, Jake Melchionni anchors the Wildcat defense with 27 caused turnovers and 55 ground balls.
  • In goal, Anthony Wilson (3-2) has started the last five games and has a 10.62 GAA to go with a .509 save percentage and 55 saves.
Series History
  • The Hoyas and Villanova have played 45 times since 1971. Georgetown owns a 25-20 overall record, including each of the last 13 showdowns.
  • Georgetown won both meetings in 2025, a 17-9 victory on the Hilltop in the regular season finale and 16-8 in the BIG EAST Championship Final.
  • The Blue & Gray is 12-12 all-time on the road at Villanova.
