WASHINGTON – Following the first round of action at the BIG EAST Championships, presented by JEEP, the Georgetown University women's golf team sits two strokes back on the leader Xavier. The seven-team field is competing on the par-72, 6,208-yard course at the Callawassie Island Club. The Hoyas carded a 15-over 303 in the first round, two strokes behind Xavier's 301 and one stroke ahead of St. John's 304.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgia Ruffolo is currently the top Hoya on the leaderboard at 1-over 73 to be tied for second place. She tallied a trio of birdies to go along with 11 pars.
- Sunny Wang is tied for seventh place at 4-over 76. The freshman has managed a squad-best 14 pars.
- Gabriella Eifrig is the third Hoya on the leaderboard as the sophomore is tied for 12th at 5-over 77. She recorded a squad-best four birdies to go along with seven pars.
- Milla Sagel is also tied for 12th at 5-over 77 after a first round that saw one birdie and 12 pars.
- Mimi Burton's 9-over 81 puts her in a tie for 25th place with a pair of birdies to go along with seven pars.
- At 10-over 82, Catherine Qiu is tied for 30th. For the day, she recorded a pair of birdies and seven pars.
