Tysons, Virginia.– The Georgetown University baseball team defeated the Seton Hall University Pirates 5-1 on Thursday evening at Tysons, Va. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 27-27 overall while the Pirates slip to 15-28 on the season.
ON THE RECORD
"It was great to win game one. Scoring in that first inning was obviously huge. Ashtin Gilio had a two-out, three-run double, and Connor Price followed with a single to put us up four. I think that gave us a lot of confidence. I thought the game really came down to Kai Leckszas; he pitched unbelievably. As a senior on Senior Weekend, to have him pitch like he did and get a standing ovation while leaving the game in control was special. Griffin O'Connor was just lights out in relief. It is fun to see those guys pair up to take care of the bullpen. We are proud of our guys, but we have to find a way to come back tomorrow and win the series." – Head Coach Edwin Thompson
