WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to the Seton Hall University Pirates 3-2 on Friday night at Capital One Park. With the loss in Tysons, Virginia the Hoyas slip to 27-27 overall and 8-12 in BIG EAST play while the Pirates move to 16-29 on the year and 3-17 in league action.
ON THE RECORD
"Credit to Seton Hall, they did a great job on the mound today. Their starter showed why he was a preseason Pitcher of the Year candidate. He kept us off balance all game, and the reliever who came in after him did a really good job as well. I thought we hit some balls hard, but unfortunately they just didn't fall our way today. I also thought Spencer Seid gave us everything he had. He battled again, got us into the seventh inning and competed the entire outing. We didn't do enough offensively to help him early, but he's been tremendous for us all season and has given us a chance to win every time he's taken the mound. Tomorrow is a new day and another opportunity to win a series on the final day of the year. We're going to fight for everything we can to get that done. We also really appreciate the support from our fans today, and we hope they come back out tomorrow."- Head Coach Edwin Thompson
