WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team will travel to face fifth-seeded Virginia in the First Round of the upcoming NCAA Tournament, as announced by the selection committee on Sunday. The Hoyas head to Charlottesville, Virginia for a showdown on Sunday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Coming off an NCAA record eighth-straight BIG EAST Tournament Championship to earn the BIG EAST's automatic bid, Georgetown is making its 19th appearance in the NCAA Tournament in program history. The Hoyas reached the semifinals in 1999 and the quarterfinals 13 times, including most recently in 2025.
The Hoyas are 10-4 overall and won the BIG EAST Tournament title with victories over Denver and Providence in Providence, Rhode Island over the weekend.
Georgetown is 0-6 all-time against the Cavaliers, including a 17-14 loss in the 2023 NCAA Semifinals in Albany, New York during their last meeting.
