WASHINGTON – The No. 14 Georgetown University women's soccer team will open the 2026 campaign on Thursday, August 13 as the Hoyas welcome Fordham to Shaw Field for an evening contest. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be live on ESPN+.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

• Georgetown went 16-4-3 in 2025, including a perfect 10-0 mark in BIG EAST Conference action, to capture its fourth consecutive BIG EAST regular-season championship. The Hoyas earned their 14th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and advanced to the third round, reaching the NCAA Sweet 16 for the fourth time in program history.
• To kick off the season, Georgetown lands at No. 14 on the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25, led by BIG EAST Preseason Defender and Midfielder of the Year in Kaya Hanson and Lizzie Heller respectively, with the pair also landing on the All-BIG EAST Preseason Team. GU has also been selected to win the BIG EAST in the Preseason Coaches' Poll.
• Heller returns after securing All-BIG EAST honors in each of her first two collegiate campaigns. The midfielder earned Second Team accolades in 2025 after tallying three goals, four assists (10 points), and playing 1,995 minutes across 23 matches, following a Third Team selection as a freshman in 2024.
• Hanson resumes her role at the center of the Georgetown defense following an All-BIG EAST Second Team campaign in 2025. Starting all 23 matches last season, she helped hold opponents to just 0.65 goals per game en route to a fourth consecutive BIG EAST regular-season championship.
• Isabel Boodell rejoins the Hoyas after making 22 appearances and 16 starts last season, contributing two goals while helping solidify the Hoya backline
• Georgetown returns 16 letterwinners and adds two transfers and seven freshmen as the Hoyas look to build on last season's Sweet 16 run.
• Head Coach Dave Nolan enters his 23nd season at the helm of the Hoyas and boasts a 300-98-69 career record coming into 2026. Nolan and staff were named the 2025 BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year for the sixth time dating back to 2007.

ABOUT FORDHAM

• Fordham finished 2025 with a 10-7-3 overall record and a 5-4-1 mark in Atlantic 10 action
• The Rams bring back five of their top six scorers from a year ago, highlighted by Mercedes Renata who earned the 2025 Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Year award and taking home All-Rookie Team honors
• Head Coach Magnus Nilerud enters his fifth season at the helm of the Rams
