No. 6/9 Hoyas to Face Delaware on Thursday

WASHINGTON – The No. 6/9 Georgetown University men's soccer team (1-0-1) will face the University of Delaware Blue Hens in a nonconference matchup at Shaw Field on Thursday evening. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. The matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Georgetown alums Dan Helfrich and Foster McCune calling the action.

About the Hoyas
  • The Hoyas picked up their first win of the season on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Shaw Field.
  • Senior Matthew Van Horn scored his first goal of the season in the 27th minute, and Zayan Ahmed scored his first-career goal in the 87th minute to put GU on top 2-0.
  • The Scarlet Knights put one into the back of the net with five seconds remaining, making the final 2-1.
  • Junior Charlie DeMarco played all 90 minutes in goal with three saves to his credit.
  • On Monday, junior Mitchell Baker and DeMarco were both named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
  • Baker had a goal and an assist in the draw against UNC.
  • DeMarco played all 180 minutes in goal for the Hoyas with eight saves and a 1.00 GAA.
