WASHINGTON – Georgetown football is set to host the Columbia University Lions in the 11th installment of the Lou Little Trophy Game on Saturday, September 26. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at Cooper Field in Washington, D.C.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

• The Hoyas return home to Cooper Field following a 24-21 setback at Richmond on Sept. 19 at Robins Stadium in Richmond, Virginia. Georgetown enters the week with a 0-2 overall record and a 0-2 mark in league play.
• Junior quarterback Jack Johnson has completed 19-of-33 passes (57.6%) for 246 yards and four touchdowns through two games.
• Junior running back Jayden Sumpter leads the Hoyas on the ground with 108 yards on 17 carries, averaging 6.4 yards per attempt. Clay Ash ranks second on the team with 47 rushing yards.
• Wide receiver Hassan Mahasin leads the Hoyas with 120 receiving yards on five receptions, including one touchdown. Jayvin Pyle-Thompson has added 56 yards on two catches and a touchdown, while Isaiah Grimes and Burke Carroll each recorded their first receiving touchdowns of the season in last week's game at Richmond.
• Sophomore defensive back Brian Allen leads the Georgetown defense with 20 tackles, including 14 solo stops and six assisted tackles, while also recording a forced fumble. Jack Casey ranks second on the team with 14 tackles (10 solo, four assisted) and leads the Hoyas with two tackles for loss.
• Defensive end Henry Eber recorded the first field goal block of his career in last week's game at Richmond.
• Head Coach Rob Sgarlata enters his 13th season at the helm of the Hoyas.

ABOUT THE LIONS

• The Lions enter the contest with a 1-0 overall record following a win over Lafayette, 40-34 (OT), at home in New York City, New York.
• Quarterback Chase Goodwin leads the Columbia passing attack, completing 25-of-39 attempts (64.10%) for 367 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
• Running back Griffin Johnson paces the rushing attack with 124 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.
• Bryce Coleman leads Columbia's receiving corps with seven receptions for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns, averaging 18.10 yards per catch.
• Head Coach Jon Poppe leads the Lions in his third season.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP

• Georgetown and Columbia will meet for the 13th time in program history. The Hoyas hold a 4-8 overall record against the Lions. 
• GU last faced the Lions on September 27, 2025 where they fell 19-10 in New York City, New York.
• The Hoyas earned the inaugural trophy in 2015 and have since gone 3-7 against the Lions.
• Lou Little is a Hall of Fame coach who spent time at both institutions. Little arrived on the Hilltop in 1924 and helped bring Georgetown football into the modern era. Little spent six seasons on the Hilltop, winning 41 games, as the head football coach and athletics director. His .759 win percentage is still the highest among GU head coaches who have coached more than 20 games. Little mentored three All-Americans OL/DL Harry Connaughton (1926), center Claude Grigsby (1927) and OL/DL/ punter Jim Mooney (1928). Each went on to be inducted into the Georgetown Athletics Hall of Fame. He took over at Columbia in 1930 and continued his storied career until 1956, posting an additional 110 victories. He was then elected president of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and served on the college football rules committee. His successes earned him an induction into the College Football Foundation Hall of Fame in 1960.
