WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men's soccer earned two BIG EAST Conference weekly honors on Monday when the league announced its weekly award winners.
Matthew Van Horn was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while
Mateo Ponce Ocampo received a nod to the weekly honor roll as the Hoyas went 2-0 last week.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
- Van Horn scored in each of Georgetown's two victories, helping the Hoyas finish the week 2-0.
- He netted the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Evansville before converting a penalty kick in Georgetown's 3-1 road win over No. 17 Akron.
- He is currently ranked second on the squad in scoring with four goals and a team-high five assists for 13 points over the first 10 contests of the year.
- His two game winners lead the squad.
- This is his first-career weekly award after earning an honor roll nod in 2024 and one this season.
- It's the fourth of the season for the Blue & Gray.

- Ponce Ocampo scored twice in Georgetown's 3-1 road victory over No. 17 Akron, recording four points as the Hoyas handed the Zips their first loss of the season.
- He is currently ranked third on the squad in scoring with three goals and a team-high five assists for 11 points over the first 10 contests of the year.
- His two game winners lead the squad.
- This is his third-career weekly nod, and the eighth for the Blue & Gray this season.
