Sklavounos, Lohser Participate in ITA Regional Men's Tennis Championship

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 6) - Junior Nicholas Sklavounos (Waterford, Conn./Waterford) and sophomore Marc Lohser (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) represented Georgetown University at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Eastern Regional Championship hosted by Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Va., November 2-6.

Lohser fell in the first round of the tournament to Guillaume Raux of Virginia Tech, 6-4, 6-4. Sklavounos won his first-round match-up, 7-5, 6-2, defeating Bill Moran of Rhode Island University. However, in the round of 64, Sklavounos had to face 20th-ranked Cliff Nguyen of Harvard. Nguyen proved too powerful, and Sklavounos lost in the second round, 6-3, 6-3.

Sklavounos and Lohser teamed up for Georgetown in doubles competition. The Hoyas were defeated by George Washington's Matt Hane and Brett Warner in the first round, 8-3. This tournament wraps up the fall season for the Georgetown University men's tennis team. The squad finished its season with a record of 3-1.
