Georgetown trailed by as many as 11 points in the game, but made a late rally to take the lead. Nok Duany (Fr., Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North) converted a three-point play with 3:45 to play to cut the Hurricanes lead to 60-59 and the Hoyas went ahead for good with 3:03 to play when Lesley Walker (So., Silver Spring, Md./Wheaton) sank a 3-pointer.
The Hoyas held Miami without a point for the game's final 3:18 and to just 19 points in the second half. Miami led 42-35 at halftime as they shot 53 percent during the half. Freshman Alicia Hartlaub scored all 16 of her points in the first half. She also grabbed eight rebounds in the game.
Duany and junior Nathalie Bourdereau (River Ridge, La./Ridgewood Prep) each had 12 points for the Hoyas, who improved to 14-10 overall and 7-6 in BIG EAST play. Gina Graziani led Miami (11-13, 5-8) with 18 points.
Georgetown will host Providence on Feb. 23 at 8 p.m.
