The Hoyas defeated the All-Army Team on Saturday 11/3/01 in an exhibition match in McDonough Arena by a score of 108-65. Mike Sweetney paced all scorers with 21 points. Gerald Riley contributed 18 tallies, Wesley Wilson added 14 and pulled down 9 boards, Tony Bethel and Victor Samnick each scored 13, Kevin Braswell tossed in 11 and Courtland Freeman rounded out the seven double figure scorers with 10 points. Victor Samnick paced all rebounders with 14 for a double-double, Drew Hall had 6 assists and Kevin Braswell, Georgetown?s all time steals leader, had 5 takeaways.

Georgetown jumped out to an early 18 point lead while holding the All-Army team to 4 points for the first 6:40. The Hoyas? biggest lead in the half was 23, 48-25 at 02:25. At intermission the score was 48-31.

In the second stanza the Hoyas built their lead to as many as 50 (108-58 1:36) before a final score of 108-65. For the game the Hoyas shot 52.8% from the field while holding their opponents to 39.3%. GU also forced 27 turnovers while only giving up 16. The Hoyas outrebounded the All Army team 50-27.
