Washington, D.C.  -- The Georgetown Hoyas men's tennis team has received an invite to the 2001 ECAC Division I Men's Invitational Tennis Championship.  The event will take place on October 5-8, 2001 and will be held at  Harvard University's Beren Tennis Center.

The 16-team field will be headed by defending champion Princeton.  Filling out the remainder of the field will be Harvard, Columbia, Virginia Tech, Yale, Brown, Colgate, Cornell, Dartmouth, Marist, Penn State, Rutgers, Pennsylvania, U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy.

Georgetown finished the 2000-01 season with an 8-12 overall record and a 2-3 mark in BIG EAST play.  The Hoyas' entire starting lineup returns for the 2001-02 campaign.
