The Georgetown men?s tennis team turned in a dominating performance in their first dual match of the season, knocking off Towson University by a score of 6-1.
The Hoyas opened the match by taking the doubles point. The first doubles team of Marc Lohser (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Eric Bildman (Brookline, Mass./Roxbury Latin School) won 8-1, the second doubles team of Dennis Cravedi (Jr., Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Prep) and freshman Brooks Lindsay won 8-5, and the third doubles team of senior Chris Kindler and sophomore Chad Milhalick won 8-2, earning a sweep in the doubles competition.
In first singles, Troy Crichlow (Sr., Milton, Mass./Milton) beat Dan Selzer 6-2, 6-0. In second singles, Lohser knocked off Towson?s Chris Rowland 7-6, 4-7, 6-3 in the only three set match of the day, and Cravedi beat Matt Shore 6-0, 6-2 in third singles. Bildman and Kindler won the fourth and fifth singles respectively, each by a score of 6-0, 6-1. Lindsay suffered the only loss of the day for the Hoyas, losing 7-6, 6-3 to Doug Ferguson.
Georgetown?s next competition will be on Saturday, October 19 at Duquesne.
