Georgetown Baseball Announces Spring 2003 Schedule

Washington D.C. ? The Georgetown University baseball team has announced its schedule for the 2003 season, opening Saturday February 8 at William and Mary.  The Hoyas? 55-game schedule features a grueling schedule against opponents with a combined 0.590 winning percentage last season.  Games against George Washington and Central Connecticut State will test the Hoyas in 2003, as will trips to visit BIG EAST rivals Virginia Tech, Rutgers, West Virginia, Villanova and Notre Dame.

Georgetown kicks off the home season when they entertain the Mountain Hawks of Lehigh on Saturday February 22.  BIG EAST play commences Saturday March 15 at home with a doubleheader against Boston College.  The Hoyas will also host Connecticut, St. John?s and Pittsburgh in conference play while inviting non-conference squads Lehigh, Mount St. Mary?s, George Washington, UMBC, Catholic, Coppin State and George Mason to play ball on Shirley Povich Field.

The BIG EAST Championship will be held May 22-24 in Bridgewater, N.J.
