For his performances in victories over Syracuse and West Virginia, Mike Sweetney was named BIG EAST Co-Player of the week. Mike scored 18 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in the victory over #10 ranked Syracuse on 1/28/02.  He then poured in 27 points and grabbed 13 caroms in the win over West Virginia on 2/2/02. The games represented Mike's 11th and 12th double-doubles of the season, the 17th and 18th of his career. They also marked the 12th and 13th time Mike has led the team in scoring and the 14th and 15th time he has led the team in rebounding this year. In the victories, Mike hit 21 of 24 attempts from the stripe (.875) and 12 of 24 from the field (.500).
