The men's team took on Duquesne University on Thursday afternoon March 28 at the Georgetown Outdoor Tennis Complex. The final score of the match was Georgetown-5, Duquesne-2.

The Hoyas started the afternoon on a very positive note by taking the doubles competition with victories at #1 and #3 doubles. Andre Benjamin (New York, N.Y./Fieldston) and Dennis Cravedi (Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Prep) teamed together at #3 and brought in the first Hoya win, 8-1. At #1 a match the Hoyas had a late lead in turned tight but the combo of Marc Lohser (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Erik Bildman (Brookline, Mass./Roxbury Latin School) prevailed 9-7.

The Hoyas followed up on the doubles momentum by taking first sets in five of the six singles matches. Duquesne showed alot of resilience as they won second sets in four of those six singles matches. But the Hoyas prevailed by taking four singles matches while only dropping two to a determined Duquesne squad. GU?s wins came at #3-6. Benjamin won at #3, 6-3, 6-4. Troy Crichlow (Milton, Mass./Milton) closed out Duquesne?s #4 in three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1. At #5 the freshman Bildman continued this season?s success with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 victory. Senior Nick Sklavounos (Waterford, Conn./Waterford) added a win to the Hoya column at #6 with his 6-0, 6-1 triumph.

Georgetown hosts local rival #67 American University on Tuesday afternoon April 2 at the Georgetown Outdoor Tennis Complex for a 3 p.m. match.
