PERTH, AUSTRALIA ? Scott Doyle ?01 and Steve Dusseau ?02 tallied double-digit points at the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) World Championship in Perth, Australia to help lead the US to a perfect (6-0) overall record and a sixth-consecutive ILF title.  Doyle, who Sunday scored a pair of goals in the US?s 18-15 championship-game victory over Canada, ended the tournament with 12 points (12 goals, no assists).  Dusseau was held scoreless in the championship game, but notched a total of 14 points (11 goals, three assists) in the US?s five prior contests.

In the championship game, the US jumped to a 6-2 first-quarter lead before being outscored 7-1 by Canada in the second frame.  The Canadians relinquished their lead early in the third quarter, as the US outscored Canada 6-1.  A fourth-quarter 13-13 tie ensued before the US netted four consecutive goals to put the contest out of reach.

The ILF World Championships date back to 1967 and are held every four years. The US has won all but one of the tournaments and placed second in the other. This year a record 15 teams participated.
