Georgetown Men?s Basketball Head Coach Craig Esherick announced today that RaMell Ross will undergo surgery next week to correct a chronic shoulder instability in his right shoulder. The required recovery and rehab will force RaMell to miss the remainder of the 2003-2004 basketball season. Because RaMell was sidelined by injury as a sophomore and redshirted, he will be eligible next season as a fifth year senior.
RaMell, a 6?5?? guard/forward from Lake Braddock only saw action in one game this season, playing 4 minutes vs Elon. Ross played in 14 games last season after missing his sophomore season to a foot injury. He averaged 5.6 minutes per outing and posted career highs of 7 points vs Howard (12/16/00) and 5 rebounds vs Nicholls State (12/2/00).
