FREDERICKSBURG, VA. ? The Georgetown men?s tennis team lost to Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va. 5-2. Three singles matches went the full three sets with GU winning only one of the three. With the loss Georgetown?s overall record in 2003 stands at 0-5.

The Hoyas lost at #2 and #3 doubles to lose the first point. GU?s #1 combo of Marc Lohser (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Eric Bildman (Brookline, Mass./Roxbury Latin School)  won for the second straight match defeating MWC?s top duo 8-6.

Tight matches were played in four of the six singles competitions. Landing GU?s two points were senior Chris Belelieu (Hinsdale, Ill./Dr. Phillips (Orlando, Fla.)) and freshman Eric Conrad (Gloucester, Mass.). Belelieu fell in his first set 4-6 at #3 but responded with 6-4 sets in two and three and Conrad won in straight sets at #6 7-6 (3), 6-2. Georgetown?s Dennis Cravedi (Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Prep) and Bildman dropped three setters with Cravedi losing at #1 4-6, 6-2, 4-6 and Bildman falling at #4 6-3, 3-6, 4-6.
