Georgetown Men?s Basketball Head Coach Craig Esherick announced today that two more student athletes have signed national Letters of Intent.
Rayshawn Reed, a 6?1?, 170 pound, guard from Inglewood High School in California, will join the Hoyas next season. Rayshawn, a guard with the athletic ability to play either guard slot, led his team to the regional finals. He averaged 24 points, 6 assists and 3 steals last season and shot 54% from beyond the arc. He chose Georgetown over Fresno State, Oregon State, St. John?s, and Colorado.
?The staff was impressed with Rayshawn?s athleticism his ability to penetrate and his defense,? Coach Esherick said.
Sead Dizdarevic, a 6?8?, 220 pound, forward from North Highland High School in California, will also don the Blue and Gray next season. A Yugoslavian national, Sead averaged 22 points, 14 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 4 assists. Sead led his team to their first appearance in the Northern California sectional finals in twenty years. He chose Georgetown over Utah, Loyola Marymount, San Jose State and Nevada.
Coach Esherick said, ?Sead?s rebounding and scoring, complimented by his passing ability make him a valuable asset to next year?s squad. The new NCAA rules about the trapezoid lane and the international arc should give Sead an advantage as he is already familiar with them. ?
