The Skinny
Georgetown meets its second straight ranked opponent when it tips-off against Miami. The Hurricanes own a five-game winning streak over GU with Georgetown?s last win coming on February 19, 2000. Both of last season?s contests were decided by three points or less as UM came out on top 73-71 in Miami and won a 60-57 affair in Washington.

In Georgetown?s last outing the Hoyas held the powerful #4 UConn Huskies to its lowest first half output of the season when GU owned a 29-26 halftime lead. UConn?s comeback was helped by Georgetown?s free throw woes as GU sank 11-of-22 and committed 18 turnovers. Varda Tamoulianis put together a career game in Storrs with 13 points and seven rebounds. All-America candidate Rebekkah Brunson had her consecutive double-digit scoring streak snapped at 19 games scoring just eight points on 3-of-11 shooting. Brunson continues to lead the BIG EAST in all rebounding categories and also in blocks.

In its final season of BIG EAST play the Hurricanes have jettisoned out to a 13-1 overall record. Miami opened the season with 12 straight wins before falling at Villanova but rebounded with a victory at B.C. to etch a 2-1 mark in conference action. Four players average double digit points, led by Tamara James with 16.1 ppg. The ?Canes have outscored the opponent by a +14.4 margin.
