Georgetown Hosts St. John's in Women's Basketball

Georgetown snaps its three-game streak of ranked opponents with a showdown against St. John?s in McDonough Gym. The overall series between the two institutions is tied 20-20. The Hoyas are coming off a 70-50 upset of #23/19 Virginia Tech this past Saturday. St. John?s has lost two straight to drop under .500 on the season, falling at Rutgers (72-47) and against West Virginia (69-67).

Georgetown?s All-America candidate Rebekkah Brunson led all scorers against Virginia Tech with 23 points and was one board shy of her ninth double-double of the season. Brunson averages a double-double against the Red Storm in her four career games with a 17 ppg and 11 rpg.

Bethany LeSueur rejoined GU?s double-digit scoring average list by netting 17 against the Hokies and now posts 10.1 per game. LeSueur along with sharp-shooter Mary Lisicky (12.6 ppg) have shared the point guard duties this season and total 88 (45 Lisicky; 43 LeSueur) of the team?s 198 assists (44%). Freshman Kate Carlin saw the most minutes of her career against Virginia Tech with 35 and produced career highs in assists and steals with four each.

SJU is one win away from matching last season?s total. The Storm is led by Kim MacMillan?s 16.1 ppg. Angie Clark has eight double-doubles and averages 13.4 ppg and 9.8 rpg.
