Today?s game will be the 40th meeting all-time between Georgetown and Connecticut, with UConn owning a 33-6 advantage. The last time these two programs met in Connecticut the Huskies broke the NCAA consecutive game winning streak record with a 72-49 victory. Georgetown enters the game on a high after defeating Notre Dame on Wednesday for the first time in 16 years. It has been 11 years since the Hoyas have recorded a win over UConn with that one coming by a 64-62 margin on Feburary 27, 1993 in Storrs.
The Hoyas scoring has been dominated by its five starters as they are averaging over 86% of Georgetown?s scoring. Three players, All-America candidate Rebekkah Brunson, Mary Lisicky and Bethany LeSueur, are all averaging double digits. Brunson has led the scoring charge in five games, while Lisicky has been tops in four contests and LeSueur has one game as the leader. Carmen Bruce has also been a scoring threat as of late, averaging 10.5 points over the past five games.
UConn fell for the first time last weekend to Duke 68-67. The Huskies opened the BIG EAST slate with a 82-57 win at West Virginia on Wednesday. Four Huskies are averaging over 10 points a game, led by Diana Taurasi with 19.7. UConn is hitting on 51.9% of its shots from the field and is limiting the opponent to a paltry 32.7%.

Rebekkah Brunson has posted 39 career double-doubles. She has seven this season helping her earn three BIG EAST Player of the Week awards.

The stat stuffer thus far in 2003-04 is Bethany LeSueur. LeSueur is GU?s top steals woman (29) and ranks second in minutes (34.8), rebounds (5.3) and assists (3.0).Plus she is third in scoring (10.3).
