BOSTON, MASS.-- The Georgetown University women?s soccer team (9-9-1, 5-5-1) lost Sunday afternoon to Boston College (14-5-0) 1-0 in the BIG EAST quarterfinal round. The loss eliminates Georgetown from the BIG EAST Tournament, ending the 2004 season.

The first half ended and neither team put a score on the board.  Georgetown out-shot BC 4-2 in the first 45 minutes of play.

Boston College?s Kia McNeill broke the lock at the 72 minute mark.  She scooped up a loose ball down the left side and ripped a hard shot from 20 yards out, hitting the net just inside the far post, to put the Eagles up 1-0 for the only score of the game.

The loss ends the 2004 season for the Hoyas, who ended with a 9-9-1 record and placed fifth in the BIG EAST standings. The Hoyas will return eight starters for the 2005 season.
