Georgetown's offense could not connect early in the second half, and the Colonials closed the gap to 32-29. The score remained within a one-point margin past the two-minute mark until GW's Jessica Simmonds scored to put the Hoyas down by three. After good free throw shooting and a key offensive rebound put the Colonials up 65-57 with 26 seconds to play, the Hoyas mounted one last charge, scoring five points in nine seconds, but in the end it was not enough.
