WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Georgetown lost a close one Thursday afternoon at the McDonough Tennis Courts as American edged the Hoyas by a score of 5-2.

Georgetown received singles wins from #3 Sana Malouf (McLean, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) and #5 Kristin Dew (Nashville, Tenn.). In doubles play, #2 pair Malouf and Dew combined for an 8-6 win. But American won the #1 and #3 doubles and 4 singles matches to claim the team victory.

The Georgetown squad will finish the 2003-2004 season on the road facing top notch BIG EAST Conference opposition at Syracuse on Saturday and at Seton Hall on Sunday.
