WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Hoya women?s tennis team closed its 2003-2004 on the road at Syracuse and Seton Hall with losses. Georgetown finishes the year with a 2-17 record.

At Syracuse on Saturday, April 17, Georgetown faced an Orange squad that anticipates being the #5 seed in the BIG EAST Conference Championship and a squad that came into the match with BIG EAST wins over Rutgers, UConn, Seton Hall and West Virginia. Although the Hoyas fought bravely, Syracuse upended the Hoyas 7-0.

At Seton Hall on Sunday, April 18, the Hoyas rebounded to play much better, but the effort and determination did not slow a solid Pirate squad. Seton Hall swept the doubles and won four singles matches in straight sets. Georgetown?s Kristin Dew (Nashville, Tenn.) and Eileen Boyle (Burr Ridge, Ill./ St. Ignatius Prep (Chicago)) took their singles matches to three sets before falling in third set tiebreakers.
