4/4/2004 WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Hoya men?s tennis team defeated Connecticut by a 6-1 score on the chilled, windy McDonough Arena outdoor tennis courts on Saturday afternoon, April 3.

The Hoyas continued their doubles dominance by taking all three doubles matches from the Huskies. At #1 doubles Hoyas Dennis Cravedi (Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Prep) and Erik Bildman (Brookline, Mass./Roxbury Latin School) won 8-3. At #2 doubles Scott Faust (Miami, Fla./Ransom Everglades) and Kevin Killeavy (Indian Harbor Beach, Fla./Melbourne Central Catholic) won 8-3. At #3 doubles Eric Conrad (Gloucester, Mass./St. John's Prep) and Eddie Carver (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) won 8-4.

In singles play, Georgetown clinched the team victory with three straight set wins. At #3 Killeavy won 6-2,6-3. At #6 Conrad won 6-2,6-2. And the decisive fourth point came from the play of Cravedi, a 6-3,6-3 winner at #1 singles. Faust got the Hoyas their fifth team point with a 6-2,6-4 win at #2 singles, while Bildman won at #5 singles 6-3,2-6,6-1.

The Hoyas will host local rival Howard University on the Georgetown courts on Tuesday afternoon, April 6, at 3:00 p.m.
