WASHINGTON, D.C. ? Georgetown women?s soccer freshman goalie Jade Higgins (Island Park, N.Y./West Hempstead) received BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honors after posting a shutout against BIG EAST opponent St. John?s on Saturday. Higgins faced nine shots total on Saturday, making three saves in the 3-0 defeat of the Red Storm.
Higgins has started every game for the Hoyas, posting a .698 save percentage and a 1.62 goals against average. The shutout against St. John?s was Higgin?s second of the year, after her first shutout against Bucknell, when the Hoyas won 4-0 on August 31, 2004.
Georgetown (4-4-0) next will face BIG EAST opponent Providence away on Friday, October 1, at 4 p.m.
