Hoyas Fall on Road to Undefeated #8 ranked Boston College

1/28/2005

In a low scoring affair, Georgetown (13-6, 5-3) lost on the road to one of two currently unbeaten teams, #8 ranked Boston College (18-0, 7-0) by a score of 49-64. Brandon Bowman scored 16 points to pace GU's scoring and Tyler Crawford came off the bench to post a career high 12 points (all in the second half). Tyler also led the Hoyas' rebounding with a career high 6 boards.Jeff Green tied his career high in assists with 7

Plagued by turnovers (14) and having trouble scoring, the Hoyas defense held the Eagles to 24 points in the first frame, but the visiting Georgetown team posted only 12 points themselves. Although the Hoyas developed a 17-14 rebounding edge, their 15 minute scoring drought would prove insurmountable.

In the second frame BC held a 36-22 lead with 12:58 to play when Bowman hit a 3-pointer to spark an 8-0 run. After BC went up 40-30, Crawford scored on a lay-up, Ashanti Cook hit a 3-pointer and then Crawford scored off an offensive rebound to make it a five-point game. For the period, the Hoyas took much better care of the ball (2 turnovers), improved their shooting from 26.3% to 46.7 % and twice cut the deficit to as few as 5, but BIG EAST leader BC remained undefeated.
