Hoyas Unlimited Announces 2005 Donors

Oct. 10, 2005

Hoyas Unlimited would like to thank all donors to Georgetown Athletics from 2005. Almost 4,000 gifts were made to raise over $1.7 million dollars to support Georgetown Athetics.

As Georgetown has increased the opportunities for student-athletes by the growing the number of programs it supports and as the costs associated with running those sports increases, each program has relied more heavily on the support of alumni, parents, and friends through Hoyas Unlimited's support clubs. Donations to support clubs through Hoyas Unlimited provide direct support to each program and can be designated to pay for specific items which a program needs.

Established in 1970, Hoyas Unlimited is an umbrella organization consisting of distinct volunteer clubs which support one or more of Georgetown's 27 intercollegiate athletics programs, as well as the Intramural Programs and the Yates Field House. Over the past 30 years, Hoyas Unlimited's members have collectively contributed more than 17 million dollars for their program of interest's use.

In addition to providing financial support for their sport of interest, each club also produces newsletters to keep their constituents informed and sponsors social events to promote fellowship among its members.
