WASHINGTON, DC --The Georgetown University swimming and diving team competed in the first day of events at the ECAC Championships held at the University of Pittsburgh on Friday, February 25. The women's team turned in several outstanding finishes.
The women's events were highlighted in the 500 yard freestyle, where two Hoyas finished in the top eight. Junior Katie Amaro and senior Cori Raffaelli finished fifth and seventh with times of 5:04.39 and 5:09.14, respectively. Freshman Caitlin Colling, claimed eighth place in the 200 yard IM in a time of 2:09.98. The Hoyas also swam to sixth place in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Colling, freshman Kelcey Poulson, junior Corrine Rhodes, and Amaro timed 1:40.05 for the solid finish.
Georgetown swimming and diving will continue the ECAC championships through Sunday, February 27.
