Men's Tennis Nets National All-Academic Team Award

WASHINGTON, DC - Georgetown's men's tennis team was honored with the National All-Academic Team Award for its team academic accomplishments for the 2004-2005 academic year. Georgetown's men's tennis team has now claimed the All-Academic Team Award for nine consecutive years.

The All-Academic Team Award, established by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in 1996, recognizes ITA programs that have a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All the Hoya tennis student-athletes who competed in one or more varsity matches during the year have their GPA's averaged into the team GPA for the current academic year.

On the courts, the Hoyas captured fifth place at the 2005 BIG EAST Conference Tennis Championship.

The members of the 2004-2005 Hoya tennis team were: senior Erik Bildman (Brookline, MA/Roxbury Latin), juniors Alex Wright (Lexington, MA/University of St. Andrew's) and Eric Conrad (Gloucester, MA/St. John's Prep), sophomores Scott Faust (Miami, FL/Ransom Everglades), Kevin Killeavy (Indian Harbor Beach, FL/Melbourne Central Catholic) and freshmen Etienne Paris (Miami, FL/Ransom Everglades), Scott Maucher (Mount Pleasant, NC/Bishop England), John Doyle (Yardley, PA/St. Joseph's Prep), Andrew Clayton (Salt Lake City, UT/Rowland Hall- St. Mark's) and Theodore Tywang (Nashville, TN/Montgomery Bell Academy).
