WASHINGTON, DC - Georgetown's women's tennis team was honored with National All-Academic Team Award for its team academic accomplishments for the 2004-2005 academic year. Georgetown's women's team has now claimed the All-Academic Team Award for eight of the last nine years.
The All-Academic Team Award, established by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in 1996, recognizes ITA programs that have a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All the Hoya tennis student-athletes who competed in one or more varsity matches during the year have their GPA's averaged into the team GPA for the current academic year.
The members of the 2004-2005 Hoya tennis team were: senior Liddy Bartell (Rancho Santa Fe, CA/Torrey Pines), juniors Kristin Dew (Nashville, TN/Webb School) and Michelle DiCocco (Media, PA/Cardinal O'Hara), sophomores Nora Gardner (Greenwich, CT/Deerfield Academy), Eileen Boyle (Burr Ridge, IL/St. Ignatius Prep) and Sana Malouf (McLean, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) and freshmen Liz Winokur (West Palm Beach, FL/Cardinal Newman), Adriann Gin (Honolulu, HI/Punahou School) and Stephanie Cohen (Fayetteville, NY/DeWitt).
